Eighteen well-restored antique tractors participated in the 2011 Grand Prairie Rice Festival parade at Hazen, Arkansas on this crisp October day. Hundreds of fans turned out to see tractors, arts and crafts, historical displays, an antique rice threshing machine demonstration, a giant antique rice well pump engine and a lot more. The festival is a good addition to your must-see list if historical artitifacts interest you and if you have children or grandchildren who could benefit from good and fun learning experience they won't see anywhere else.
The parade was led by Mason Sickel of nearby Tollville, Arkansas, not far from legendary fishing impoundment, Peckerwood Lake, in his restored Model-T Ford. I first met Mason, a congenial family man, in September 2009 when I photographed his Pink 1963 R185 International tractor.
