hough tiny Selma, Arkansas is hardly a town anymore, it once was thriving, and the community's present and former residents haven't forgotten it. The Selma Methodist Church, built in 1874, holding its own as the centerpiece of the town, is in restorable, but badly-needing-work condition.

Several years ago, a group of residents, former residents, and friends fearing they might lose their church to the relentless hands of time formed The Selma Mehodist Church Restoration Society to raise money and bring the old church back to its glory days.
May 21st, 2011, more than 120 people gathered at the church grounds for the organizations first fundraiser, an event these determined supporters plan to hold annually. There was good food, good music, an auction, and a plethora of hugs and handshakes. Donations were graciously offered and gratefully accepted.
