Late bird, early spring?
In 2011, I found my first patch of blooming Jonquils on February 20 at north of Kingsland, Arkansas. At the time, I believed this appearance was way ahead of the season. This year, I spotted my first blooming Jonquils on February 7 here in Pine Bluff. While looking for Jonquils late one afternoon, I stumbled across a fat Robin looking for his supper.

While looking for Jonquils I found this fat Robin posing on the remnants of a fallen tree.
The Robin suddenky dived for the ground and began rustling through the leaves. Right after this shot he grabbed a worm.
He then returned to his perch and proudly displayed his catch and supper.
Not far away on Hickory Street where I found the bird, I found this bunch of Jonquils on a vacant lot. The lonley flowers once graced the front yard of a long-demolished house.
Closer to home, my dependable master gardener neighbor always has flowers appropriate for the season/ Unseasonable weather this year fooled them into blooming early. Had the night temperature plunged as predicted, these posies would be a sorry brown.
